- Ab Minor 7
Ab Minor 11, written Abm11, is built from Ab, Cb, Eb, Gb, Bb and Db: the root, minor 3rd, 5th, minor 7th, 9th and 11th.
Its 3rd and 7th, Cb and Gb, are its guide tones: they say what kind of chord it is, so voicings are built around them and the root is often left to the bass.
