The major scale and its modes are the most commonly used scales in western music.
Its modes play the same notes from another degree: C# Dorian from the 2nd, D# Phrygian from the 3rd, E Lydian from the 4th, F# Mixolydian from the 5th, G# Aeolian from the 6th and A# Locrian from the 7th.
